In 2008 Yarrambat Primary celebrates 130 years of education and is located in a semi rural area ten minutes from Greensborough in the Plenty Development Corridor. Enrolment is 510. Recent Capital Works and other funding has added an innovative flexible Upper School learning centre, Art room, PE/Music Centre and refurbished the admin area, library and cultural centre. The School has an excellent professional culture and our strategic plan focuses on improving numeracy learning, improving student engagement by embedding inquiry learning and developing improved internal transition practices.
The school advocates and supports the concept of parents and teachers working in partnership to guide children’s development. Parents are encouraged to be closely involved with the school’s operation in a variety of roles.
This school’s ultimate goal is to be an excellent learning centre for every child. It has a unity of purpose and the preparedness to closely monitor its progress towards the achievement of the goals and priorities it sets. The school has shown its capacity to be responsive to any concerns that are identified.
Yarrambat Primary provides an ideal learning environment for children with its modern buildings and its spacious grounds. A Before and After School Care program is provided and the school canteen operates three days weekly under a manager.
The School motto is “Best of Both Worlds” and its identified values are “set in stone” (actually in our entry path to the office) and include “Respect for rules, teachers, peers and selves,” “Honesty,” “Manners,” “Rejection of bullying,” “Tolerance and appreciation of individuality,” “Friendliness,” “Trustworthiness,” “Confidence,” and, “Striving for Excellence.”
The School’s vision is:
“Yarrambat Primary School supports children to meet life’s challenges with confidence to succeed.”
